"Charles" Brunner of Incinerator Consultants Incorporated and Timothy D. Van Epp of Eurasia Environmental Associates (EEA) was published by INCINERATOR CONSULTANTS INCORPORATED in 2005. It is a comprehensive text dealing with the origin of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in the environment, the properties of these dangerous compounds, and means for their disposal though plasma-arc technology, incineration, pyrolysis and other thermal treatment methods. Many of the POPs are candidates for destruction in existing industrial furnaces such as boilers, smelters and cement kilns, and techniques for determining the ability of this equipment to destroy POPs is clearly presented. Institutional issues associated with the development of POPs destruction projects are addressed. A CD-ROM is included with the text, and this contains safety sheets for each of the POPs, interactive methods of calculating POPs destruction, Web Sites for Governmental and Non-governmental sources of financing for such projects, etc. The text has metric and American units for references and calculations.
